This app is fantastic. It shows you the crime ridden neighborhoods so that you can protect yourself and your families when visiting unknown areas. There is no reason a person should put themselves in harms way voluntarily, and this app shows you where its safe to go. One of the best apps in the app store because it may save your life. The other apps did not show any crimes in some notoriously dangerous neighborhoods around me. Im very happy I found this app.

I like the interface and the ability to see the areas with high crime rate... And if you can add the news element to it, it would seem a credible to me as a user.
One more thing, I as a user post a report it a sighting, I should be able to take it down. The feature would help as well, cuz we make mistakes at times :)
But, nice effort to make this worked a safer place.

Some bad moments
Downloaded and launched and immediately a max volume alert blared out. My phone is on silent. No way to turn off the sound?? Woke up my wife. Lame.
This app is pointless. Crime data is old and unreliable. Why would you ever use this gps to go around crime that has happened 2 weeks ago. Who cares. Terrible app
The interface is horrible and not user friendly. And it seems the red zones are not updated to date. I went on a trip to Los Angeles and avoided to pointed out red zones but I still got robbed at night. The app didnt do what it was supposed to. I just uninstalled immediately afterwards.
You may want to reconsider your representation of "high-crime" neighborhoods. Outlining minority neighborhoods in red lines was historically used by the government to deny services to non-white residents.
On a different note, I live smack-dab in the middle of a "RedZone" neighborhood, and I have basically never felt unsafe, except in the middle of the night. One nuance you may consider is dividing crime statistics by time of day. Many "high-crime" neighborhoods are perfectly safe during the day.
The app showed crime information and then it disappeared. New version has no icons.
Update has not improved anything
App works very slow and when the data finally loads it is out of date and seems flawed. NYC has a ton of shootings listed and just one theft. That cant be right.
Theres no detail or source information either. Where are these reports coming from?
